next up, lumberjack 100
Here I am again..for the third time. It's a long way from home but this year I'm determined to cross the finish line. 2 years ago, I crashed out of the race before the race even started and last year my knee injury took me out after 50 miles.
This year, I simply have two goals: 1) Finish and 2) Have fun. Long races are not my focus this year so it's nice to not have any additional pressure..who knows, I may even do better than I think I will..we shall see.
I'm trying to stay positive but this has honestly been one of the worst weeks ever with Bob missing. I am not sure how much more I can cry..I think all the tears have completely dehydrated me. I have called at least 50 clinics and shelters in the Knoxville area..sent out lost pet alerts..and I still feel really helpless. The worst part is not knowing. Yes, Bob is a dog. But he is not just any dog. Every single person that has come across this dog has sensed how special he is. It kills me to know he may be in danger somewhere..right now I would give anything to have him back.
AAAAH. OK. Back to packing. I'll report back after the race this Sunday!
