done and done
This week's training hours were pretty lousy but I did get all my specific workouts in. The theme of training lately has been short and to the point. I have no regret about skipping the Snake Creek Gap TT 2 yesterday..I heard a lot of folks spent the race with chain suck, pissed off drivetrains, and 4+ hours cold/wet/muddy. Emily pointed out that they have me as a DNF on the website, not sure why, because I was still fast asleep in my warm bed when the race started. I suffered enough in the January TT and my toes are still paying for it...I still don't have complete feeling back in my big toes. Not to mention, I wasn't about to "break in" my fresh new bike parts with that slop. So, yesterday was a nice character building ride on the road..sleet, freezing rain, bone chilling wind..you name it. At least we were close enough to home that I was able to ride home and finish my workout inside when I couldn't take it anymore.
This morning was spent at 55nine Performance getting my Rotwild R.R2 full suspension dialed in. I've been exclusively riding my R.R2 hardtail, even on all the rocky, technical courses and it will be a nice change to be on the full suspension for awhile. We also set the bike up with the Ergon GA1 grips. I always use the GP1 Leichtbau and have heard nothing but good things about the GA1 so I thought I'd give them a whirl. LOVE THEM!

One of my bikes will have the GA1 this year, and the other will have the GP1 Leichtbau. For 2010, I will also have one hardtail and one full suspension. The hardtail will be set up with bigger gearing for races like Ore to Shore while the full suspension will be set up with a climbing gear...Sram XX this year!
